hi guys, i just got my 3000+ Venice E3 stepping. I want to o/c the system up. Am using Gigabyte G8NF-9 nForce4 chipset. So far, I tried to lower the HT to 4x and the ratio to 2 / 1.33 and CPU clock to 7x or 6x but it seems that I can't push anything further than 210. Above that, the system wouldn't boot up.

What should i do next to push it further?

Have you tried increasing the vcore at all? Try increasing that in around .25v increments and see how you go :)

when in bios , press Ctrl+F1 to bring out the hidden memory tweaking menu. Maybe that will help you more. Also please post a screenshot of your CPU-Z settings and A64 Tweaker settings ( both of these programs are found all over the web ) . www.cpuid.org for cpu-z and google A64 tweaker and try to get the 0.60 beta version.

my gigabyte 478 is solid as a rock.

actually i feel like ocing on that board again, its home to my celly again atm. might give it a go sometime.

I lurfed that Giga-Byte. Dave you better be treatin' her well or your ass is grass. :)

Make sure to clean out her little chipset fan once in a while, 'n stuff. :)

Guys, now I able to reach 270 with HT multiplier at 2.5x, CPU multiplier at 8.5x and memory divider at 2/1.33. So, my proc speed is at 2295Mhz. Almost make it pass 2.3Ghz mark. Will try to push further. This mobo roxxxx!

(O yeah, how to post pictures btw? Hehe) :D

hmm you should be able to push it higher, what are your temps like, what kind of ram do you have mate, you should be able to easily hit 2.5 :( crank some more volts into if you can...

post picture by uploading it to the SX uploads server scroll down a bit

Will try to push further. Processor temp is at 36C currently using stock cooling. I'm using normal dual channel Kingston BH-5 2x256MB DDR400.

I already push the CPU to 1.45V. Normal is only 1.4V and from wat i know the max voltage is only 1.45V. Should I push it up a bit again?

HOLY MOTHERFUCK dont use stock cooling you'll fuck something up rofl, to get decent overclocking results you might need to go to 1.5 or higher, dont try it with stock cooling lol :( , and your ram will probably hold you back a bit

Yeah mate, looking for one decent cooler. I know if I want to push further must buy another better cooler. LOL. No choice for RAM right now :D
