ok I have 3,500 to open a mini gaming cafe at the back of the shop I own it will be running the software smartlauch. I need to build 4 gaming pcs and a server/admin pc with a windows server os and want all the 4 gaming pcs to run the games of the server is this possible if so can u guys list me parts

Is the server OS licensing part of the 3500?? Can the machines be overclocked? An overclocked i3 is fairly cheap and can run just about any game out there. Pair it with a GTX460 and you have a very decent gaming rig.

Agreed.

Check out the 600 pound gaming rig which should give you a good start point.

Well, just in server licensing alone you are looking at a lot of your budget gone. What currency is the 3500 in?

In US dollars you are looking at about $1000 for Server 2008 R2 Std with 10 CALs.

You will need Win7 Pro to be able to join a domain. So looking at about $140 for each PC if you go OEM, so $560. Total is about $1600 for just the Microsoft licensing leaving you with about $1900 left to build 4 PCs. That's $475 each....

3,500 in pounds so around 5497.45 usd

Not sure what MS charges for licensing over there. Find out what all the software is going to run you then come back with exactly how much you have left for hardware.

Oh geez, plus you need to build a 5th PC for the server/admin box. This budget isn't very good for building a small cafe. If the PCs aren't good enough spec, what is going to bring people in and keep them there?

pricing includes the 4 gaming pcs the server with atleast 5tb to have all the games on 4 good monitors dont need monitor for server I have one uhm and mice and keyboard will need them aswell by the way we only need a disc drive on the server
