Hey guys.

I have a question about the second PCI-E Port (16x) which is normally reserved for SLI Cards. But because i need to change the position of my card i need this port. Is it possible for me to just put my card in that port or do i have to do something else ? IS it possible ?

It should run fine in the second slot... Only one way to find out for certain :) Pop that sucker in there and hit the power switch, see what happens, lol.

will have my PC on monday, then i will try it... Before you ask why : I have a new chipset cooler and it is to big :D

hehe

Make sure you uninstall nvidia drivers before you do it or they'll get confused bless 'em ;)

Put it in SLi mode unless you want to kill your performance.

Board's in NON-SLi mode = Top slot, 16x..bottom slot, 2x.

Video card's, 6800GT..for that matter, MAX OUT PCI-E 2x.

Put it in SLi to get 8x8.

No card yet maxes 8x.

yeah actually i thought about that... but additionally I thought that i might get some problems if i activate SLI without a second card...

Generally you won't have any problems. I've read a few cases on this and all have been good. :D

Give it a shot, if you do get a problem..consider yourself fucked. If you don't, consider yourself lucky :).

hummm as long as nothing breaks its ok with me :D

Nope, nothin will break :).

All the jumpers/card/switch does for SLI is change the arrangement of the lanes at hardware level.

The nVidia drivers take SLi configuration, at a software level.
