Been playing with my 2900XT 512Mb Card & have found some interesting things :D

All test where conducted using the following settings

Catalyst 7.10 Beta was the driver used & LOD +3 used for all tests

The main setting that helps with high clocks in ATITool is this one

Memory & core scaling :D all stock volts on 2900XT & cooled by Swiftech MCW60

Below tests are 3DMark 01 Nature (This is my favourite game :D )

Mem Speed--------Core @ 806----------------Core @ 874----

------------ PCI-E @ 100--PCI-E @120--PCI-E @ 100--PCI-E @120

999-------------665.0-------669.1---------696.6-------703.2

1017------------669.6-------674.1---------703.2-------710.4

1035------------675.5-------679.7---------708.8-------715.3

1053------------676.9-------681.8---------713.7-------720.6

1071------------679.8-------685.2---------718.3-------724.5

1089------------681.5-------687.3---------721.6-------729.0

1107------------682.8-------689.1---------724.5-------730.7

1125------------683.5-------690.2---------726.1-------733.0

1143------------684.7-------693.3---------727.7-------734.2

1161------------686.2-------694.6---------730.9-------735.3

It looks like the timings on the memory get tighter at this point (Like a strap change)

1179------------694.1-------700.2---------738.6-------744.9

1197------------684.2-------698.1---------735.3-------747.5

At 1179 & 1197 I get super bad artifacts accross the screen! I don't know if the card is changing the timings or ATITool! I just wish the software or bio's were available to use these cards to thier full potential :(

More tests will follow

Interesting - is it possible to adjust the timings/ strap manually (Bios Flash, perhaps)?

Hopefully if Rabit is ever released for 2900 cards!!! I know this cards got alot more in the memory just need to tweak the timings like I did with 1900 series bios which gave an extra 2-3% boost in some benches!!!

I dont know why it is a big secret for software, i mean these cards have been out some time now so there should be the software/flashing tools avalible for all to use then just a few top benchers.

I wish i had known about the tweeks last night mate before my Raptor died, had the system on My S/S aswell and was going to start pusing it some, i was can see a big improvemnt in your bench with Canyon Flight, even though i was running higher clocks on the CPU i was know where near your bench results.

Some nice in depth testing there LL,scaling seems pretty linear.I still regret not having something ati flavoured to play with.

Testing voltage to prove my point about the timings adjusting themselves!! Check out the memory voltage at these speeds! Only 1.900V fully stable :O now where's the software to adjust the timings because i'm betting 1300Mhz DDR would be possible with some tweaking
