2600K build for a friend

So , I've just really "finished" my rig, If that's even possible. LOL.

Anyways, got a freind of mine who is wanting a rig built for mostly flight simulators and such.

And he's wanting me to build it for him and help him make the choices on what's the best bang for buck.

Now first of all, I bought a 1366/x58 rig mainly for the challenge and the deal I got on my cpu. Although I do mostly gaming, I'm venturing into the realm of video editing and do some 3d project rendering with a CAD program. So the 950 was my choice.

Two weeks after I aquired my 950, those bastards released the 2600K. OH WELL.

So I cant beat that in benchmarks, but I dont really care at this point as I'm very proud of what I've researched, learned and applied to my build, not only from this wonderful place but as well as others.(thanks OC3D)

I've got a pretty good idea on what motherboard I want to go with on my buddy's build, but I would like some feedback as to which one to get.

Keep in mind he will be using 3 monitors, and lots of extra plug ins for pedals, stick control, stuff like that for flight simulation.

1. 2600K cpu

2. Asus Maximus IV Extreme, or the Gigabyte UD7 (money not an issue)

3. Graphics probaly dual 570's MSI twin frozr's or asus DC

Any feedback from those of you who have the UD7 or maximus would be helpful. Thanks guys.

(I'm excited about this, cause I get to learn sandybrige now)

Go for the UD7 cus for some reason the maximus only supports two cards at x8/x8 and if your running a multi monitor setup then you want x16/x16.

What made him want a 2600K over the 2500K cus unless he's going to make use of the extra threads with some rendering or something along those lines its kinda pointless?

Oh, and MSI are now doing the 570's with twin frozr 3 coolers now if you didn't already know that which is the same cooler as the 580's that Tom was going nuts over on the 580 review.

You'll want the UD7 for x16/x16, multi monitor set ups is where that bandwidth is needed most.

Get the MSI 570 whether it's the Twin Frozr II or III you're talking about, Asus' cooler isn't worth that extra slot when compared against the Twin Frozr.

Oh yeah forgot that bit, defiantly go with the MSI's cus the if you go with the ASUS cards on the UD7 then cus they use 3 slots then they'll be running at x16/x8 where the MSI's with only using 2 slots will be running at x16/x16.

If he wants a multi screen setup then go for AMD cards. they work far better than Nvidia with multiple GPU's because crossfire gives alot better performance boost than SLI does. And AMD's Eyefinity is perfect for the multi screen setup.

Yeah go with some AMDs man, you'll appreciate the performance a lot more then some Nvidia on 3 screens. I'd just throw some 6970s in it. Pretty quality sounding tower other then that

Not putting 2 loud amd cards in there. I have a 6970 myself. Love the card but its under water now. Probably doing 2 570's.

Well after long debate. MSI has a nice 6970 lightning out now. So where going with just one of those for now. Then he can get another in a few weeks. Didn't know they had the twin frozr 3's on there. So maybe they wont be as loud as mine was stock. Thanks for the input guys.
