Not quite sure what you mean mate, care to elaborate ?

Sorry im upgrading my pc and i want the best but i dont want to get the gtx590 if it only runs on 1 gpu and i have seen on youtube every one runs a 30 inch monitor to get the full effect of both gpu's and i have a 24 inch screen just wanted to know if it would rund both gpu's on the card

Its the resolution that affects the performance of a GPU not the screen size.

But it wouldn't ever disable a GPU core just because of whatever resolution you are running.

The full effect part is probably that you can run games at very high resolution with very nice frame rates, so the effects are less at lower resolutions as other cards offer enough performance at that level.

He answered your question...

See the bold part? It clearly says that a GPU core won't be turned off ever. That means both of them will be working all the time.

The more important thing is that they will BARELY be working. The card is so powerful it'll probably laugh off almost everything you can throw at it at that resolution. I would suggest saving the money and getting a 580 instead. Then you can spend that leftover money on a better monitor or something like a SSD to make your games load faster.
