24/7 3770k OC Voltage?

I guess it's possible, but for the short amount of time that you had it 1.45v, it really shouldn't have made any difference. I take it you have all the power saving features turned off and Windows power options aren't set to save on energy?

So far as I can tell yeh. It failed 1.24v too, running now on 1.25.

I'm completely confused though, each run time on IBT last night was taking like 245 seconds, now it's doing them at 151, all settings on max stress and even a lower clock speed now. No idea what I've done but apparently it's now working like 40% faster than yesterday

It usually takes me anywhere from 150 to 154 seconds, depending on if i have other apps running. What are the temps like at 1.25?

Best of luck to you.

I have a feeling that when the temperature outside really begins to climb, i'm going to have to underclock my CPU a little, or else it's just going to BSOD all the god damn time.

Considering the noctuas have the ULNAs, my exhaust BeQuiet silent wings 2 is toned down to 40%, and my gentle typhoon for the graphics is at 7v there are a few ways to be able to get temps down if need be.

I also have a fan slot free in the roof which i've always used to intake air straight to the front of the cooler. So I'm gunna get another fan in there over the next couple of weeks.

Passed tests at 1.24v even though it wouldnt have it at all this morning....

Yeah, I can understand. I don't know about you, but I thought that i'd be able to run the noctua at 12v and it would still be silent. Oh well, I guess.

Glad to hear that it passed the 1.24v runs.

Well a mate of mine has the D14 and his seemed completely inaudible, but I'm unsure what voltage he was running them off. But I only decided to go with the D14 like 3 days ago anyway, and by that time I'd seen your post about finding them too loud, so I was kind of expecting them to be a little loud.

Having owned a CM Hyper 212+ with 2 Xigmatek red LED fans on before, even at 12v it's very quiet compared to that so I cant really complain.

The only really noticeable noise from my pc now is my graphics card and my psu, and the psu may be getting replaced at some point soon anyway, so I dont really mind.

Being trying again with overclocks and had more success...

I kept getting bluescreens, and I thought that in all the bluescreens I'd had trying to get the cpu stable it had caused errors in windows, so reformatted and reinstalled windows. As it was only a day old this wasnt any bother.

After fresh installs, bluescreens carried on so reset the CMOS which fixed it. i set the overclocks back to what they were when I was getting bluescreens and left the RAM in manual, rather than XMP. I think it was the RAM overclocks causing the bluescreens before, probably fiddled with timings or something.

Now I'm running the cpu at 4.5ghz at 1.21v stable so I think thats completely fine.

The RAM however...

If I put it to 1600mhz it runs fine. If I put it to 1800 or 1866, regardless of whether it's in XMP or Manual modes, it doesnt boot at all. For mushkin RAM I was expecting better than this tbh, unless it is me doing something wrong? (most likely

)

Any ideas how to get it past 1600mhz, or at least tighten the timings while keeping the RAM stable?
