I'm quite chuffed with myself, after much tweekage and messing about. I've finally cracked 20,000 on 3dmark06, and just had to post! :o

This is with a core2duo, and 2 crossfired 4850's.

Been wondering about the futuremark site, hunting for the topmark for `06 with a core2duo and 4850 cards.

And you know what.. I think it may be mine! :D :D

Can anyone else find a higher score? link

Sorry to burst ya bubble matey :)

Aww that's a shame. 22,523 is a crazy score to get from a duo :worship: :worship: Was done with an E8600 running at 5.8GHz

Think I'll have admit defeat on that one :D Chasing it with a E8400 is only going to end in new parts being ordered :D

Hmmm.. maybe if I drop the multiplier.. Up the FSB.. Plug in a radiator from a sherman tank.. Move to the artic circle..

NO NO Stop! :nono: :nono:

No, that is a 3dmark06 glitch where it uses the default clock multiplier rather than the one used.

In this example the guy states that his cpu is: E8600 Thermalright Ultra-120 @ 589*8 = 4712MHz

Lol, whats pulling you down from his score isn't the cpu but the gfx cards. His are heavily modded with Vgpu mods. He has 2 x ATI HD4850 @ 760MHz / 1075MHz - stock cooler - 1.30v @ load.

760mhz core is huge, compared to stock 625. He needed 1.3v for this on stock cooler!! Very Very hot. I think stock vcore for the hd4850 is around 1.15v.

If you have money to burn go ahead and follow suit and mod your card and clock like hell. Imo i'd go for 2 hd4870 512mb which can be had for £160 now. These 4870 have highe stock core clocks and higher stock gpu vcore. Therefore have more overclocking head room than its little brother 4850.

Hope that helps...:boink:
