120hz or 240hz

Hello everyone i was wondering if there really is a big difference between 120 hz and 240hz on a 60"+ LED screen. I will mainly be using the tv for playing on my consoles, hooking my desktop up and playing movies and few games on it sometimes.

really depends on the price difference tbh, remember that consoles are capped at 60fps maximum, so anything higher than that won't matter, and even if the tv is running 4k resolution, I hardly think that a high end pc can run games at 4k res with more than 120 fps. Also most movies are capped at 24 frames so it won't matter for movies either.

I could be wrong here, as it's happened at least three times in recent memory, but when referring to the refresh rate of mainstream TVs it's not the actual panel that's being talked about but the speed of the backlight.
To my knowledge there aren't many TVs that have an actual refresh rate of above 60Hz.

These TVs are marketed at inputs at around or below the 30fps mark, so when things get fast paced (i believe a tennis match was used in one of the TV company's example) it gets blurry. Games, however, have the ability to go higher than this. Even the last gen consoles have been playing COD, albeit at a shitty resolution, at 60fps. I don't think such trickery would play such a big part when there isn't as big a gap to bridge.

Edit: Well, it seems as though i'm wrong. Some higher end TVs really do have silly high panel refresh rates. I'm getting my info from here and i'd recommend it as a read if you're taking an interest.

You also have to take in account for imput lag on TVs, monitors have a really low imput lag and don't cause issues but TVs have ridiculously high amounts of imput lag. For movies and TV it is a non issue, but for games you will notice the lag. My TV is 120hz but the lag on it at 120hz is to high to play any type of game, so I have to stick to 60hz for gaming.
