1155 cooler on 775?

Afternoon!

Just want to know would a socket 1155 cooler fit a 775 motherboard? Want to use the 1155 stock cooler on a friends motherboard, I have mounting pins if the stock clips dont work too

Nope, the holes have different spacings, 775 is wider than 1155.

Never mind I was thinking about 1366.

Yea, thats what I was thinking, they look pretty similar, just wondering would it fit...

I had a quick look on Google and it seems you can with some coolers but not all, I also saw something about a mounting bracket that might work as well.
