1066mz ram with XFX 680i LT

I asked on tomshardware but they didnt know answer since I got no replies.

Apparantly my board, according to nvidia/XFX, cannot support 1066mhz ram, now I think that this may mean either EPP profiles or it cant do it automatically, and that I could probably auto adjust it myself to run at its correct speed, but obviously IDK for sure and dont want to spend lots of mone on some ram to find out, I may overclock my own later on and see what happens but then again I dont want 2 risk damage to the motherboard, im not sure what COULD happen in the worst case scenario.

So, basically, anyone know if It'll work? I know the boost would be quite small over ddr800 however id rather have the extra speed for the small price. Upgrading would be about £30 after I sold my current ram.

Mmm, okay.. that is weird. An Nforce board not supporting 1066mhz.. Crazy stuff.

IF you want to go for a gamble just grab the memory and find out for yourself.

But I think you will find it won't even boot. :(

Worth a try in my opinion. Can you clock your 800Mhz modules to 1066Mhz? Or just overclock them for the extra speed you want. :)

Am going to try, was a bit hesitant they are meant to be quite overclockable easily too 1066 reason is tha I was going to buy som without heatspreaders on and add some good ones, cant really remove the crappy oens from my ram atm.

Will try 2 reach it...

Well using 2.3volts which is covered by my OCZ warrenty with 5-5-5-15-2T I've got it running fine at 1ghz aka 1000mhz.

So, now to see if it brakes :D

since the latest bios update the board have been able to run at 1066 but its not 100% stable as i have found out.

End up with curroptions.

mm may be good to leave it at 1gzh then..

Still great, thanks guys :)

I think OCZ have a memory flashing utility Ill use that to set the timings up so its does it automatically in the future.
