Ares was their limited run of premium dual GPU for AMD wasnt it?

Seems pretty clear cut on their direction to me considering the so called deals going on with nvidias new policy. Guess it will be more mainstream now. With RoG reserved for Nvidia.

I completely forgot about those dual GPU cards. GPU's are kind of boring now.

It's a good thing they don't make dual GPUs anymore, because all the issues that came with them.

Bah, issues can be fun. Half the fun used to be tweaking things to get them to work right.

I had a good time with SLI when I ran it.

Yeah there were definitely two camps on that; those who indeed enjoyed the tweaking and those who didn't. While belonging to the latter side myself, I can appreciate those who did like it. Both SLI and CrossFire, however, are being abandoned by all sides.

Well for the whole life of the Ares 5870 it literally did not work properly (runt frames, dropped frames) and no tinkering could have fixed it.

Later ones worked better, but by the time the 290 one came out support had waned.

Well even if they are products intended for the purpose of "gaming" I find that using said word in any product name is incredibly immature.
