Radeon RX Vega benchmarks leak online

I would say it is what is expected.... a bit more than a 1080. If rumors are true and it will be 300€ cheaper than a 1080 then its a good card. As it would interest potential 1070 buyers.

Exactly this. Most people don't need 1080/Ti performance, and while having it is nice it's actually still a good thing for AMD to provide competition in a bigger sector.

As I'm only looking for the power of a GTX 1070 for my next build then RX Vega will certainly be an option if the price is right. No need to hate on a product because it's not the best thing on the market; look at what it offers for the price and then judge.

Even if you want a GTX 1080 Ti or equivalent there's no point in trashing RX Vega; it is what it is and will offer what it offers. Just buy a GTX 1080 Ti and be happy. No point in being brand loyal if they don't have the product you want but a competitor does.

Compared to what? The 1080 spans from 680-800€ and if the rumor says 500€ there is a huge chance it's mis translation and it's 500$ = 1080

Hmm my disappointment with it is that again AMD has nothing to offer in the enthusiast segment, where it would be so nice to have some solid competition since there's only (and sadly) two chip makers.

But the 1070 is 150watt TDP and the rumor says 300watt TDP for the Vega = if on a budget this can be a huge factor depending on power cost. It's high in Denmark.

I agree with being disappointed. I like AMD and want them to succeed to push competition but RX Vega not matching a GTX 1080 Ti is a disappointment.

I just don't understand how some people seem to think it's a trash card or "too little too late". Are GTX 1070's bad cards now? Would you be an idiot to buy one? Or is the simple fact that it was first to offer that price/performance a reason to ignore the equivalent competition?

It's people with that mindset that frustrate me. From what I can tell GTX 1070's are still hugely popular so I can't see how AMD offering competition there is a BAD thing. Disappointing it isn't better? Yes, but a BAD product? No.

Which is a perfectly valid argument and if that makes the option of the GTX 1070 the better prospect in that situation then buy the GTX 1070. I only said it would be an option; something to consider when planning a build. Not necessarily the 100% go-to for all builds in that tier and not a product to completely ignore and not even look at the specs for either..

This. This all of the days.

As someone looking for power inbetween a 1080 and 1080Ti at around €500-600, I'm disappointed by the numbers, but only marginally. I would have hoped it would have just egged past an overclocked 1080, but if the price is right and I'm not forced into liquid cooling then I think I could warrant the upgrade.

300 cheaper than a 1080? that would make vega like rx 570 non mining hiked prices, right? what crazy fanboy wetdream rumors have you been looking at?

Woah, relax. I think he's referring to the $300 price difference between the GTX 1080 3440x1440p Gsync setup and Vega 3440x1440p Freesync setup. The price difference could be $250 from the monitor and only $50 for the graphics card, or maybe it's 50/50 split between the monitor and the graphics card. We don't know.

1070 is not enough for 1440p any more. I know, because I had a heavily overclocked Titan XM and with stuff like Deus Ex, Quantum thinger and all that it was struggling at 1440p. Even the last DLC on Fallout 4 was going into the low 40s. Not the end of the world, but yeah I like to have more power on tap.

The 1080 may well fill this void. I don't know, I didn't replace with a 1080.

But yeah, 1070 performance now is 1080p only really. Which is fine, so long as it is cheap, but Vega screams expensive to me.

It's not really too little but it is far, far too late. Far too late, not even anywhere near when it was actually needed (the last year Nvidia have gouged and we desperately needed alternatives etc).

I seriously, seriously can't tell you guys how god damn close I was to pulling the trigger on a PS4 pro. Seriously it was in my cart and everything on Amazon, and I pulled out at the very last second and bought a new CPU and mobo. But yeah, it was *that* close.

FO4 is an awful game to use for measuring performance. That POS brings my 1080TI's to their knees. Typical Bethesda "optimization". :)

I know that dude, but the fact is it's still my most played game in years (since FONV) and at the end of the day by fair means or foul I still need to play it at a decent framerate.

I initially tried it at 4k with two Fury X. Nuh uh. Tried it with one, even worse. 14 FPS in the city.. I'm about to do another complete playthrough as a woman, hopefully this time without all of the freezing and pausing. It wasn't until I reached the last DLC that I got my Titan XM, and it did do OK.

But yeah, will be nice to get decent performance throughout. Hoping the guy pays me for the 5820k etc, then I will look into either a very compact loop, or, a EVGA Hybrid. Both cost around the same tbh.
