A Skylake-EP processor has appeared on eBay

One of Intel's new Skylake-EP processor has appeared on eBay, with the seller claiming that this model is a 28-core 2GHz unit.

To be fair there's nothing at all incorrect in that listing, the part number and specs are spot-on - that said there's no heat-sink and I've not seen them shipped without them, which strikes me as a bit odd. But otherwise this looks like a legit part.

This is a server processor, pretty much specifically designed for virtualisation, Intel have over 99% of this market - it sounds like you know better, perhaps you could enlighten us...

P stands for Platinum, as a part of the new naming scheme for the Xeon range. Platinum 81**. Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze.
