AMD announces a long-term strategic partnership with Bethesda

This is good. I think it was here I said recently AMD need to get back into game devs and get them supporting their hardware properly. They need some killer apps, Bethesda should be able to provide them.

TBH most Bethesda games have terrible support for multi-core, Fallout 4 is terribad in that respect. It will be good to have an influence on them that can help improve their CPU and GPU efficiency, rather than bolt more GPU stuff onto games like Physx Flex.

Yeah they definitely need schooling. These latest games have been bloody awful.

Talking of FO4. Never did try the hi def thing lol. Might fire up the typhoon later and have a look.

TBH fan-made high-res texture packs have a much bigger impact with lower VRAM usage. Don't waste an extra 50ish GB on that pack.

I've already done it. To be fair though the size doesn't bother me much. It's on a 2tb drive that's about half full any ways. I got it all downloaded and ready, then got distracted haha. That was about two weeks ago :D

Bit late now though. I have the last dregs of Nuka World to do and I am all done.

It's mostly terrible because didn't the engine they use come out in like 2009? Really old! I'm pretty sure they are using an old engine but constantly update it. It'll only take you so far though.

Actually it's still based on the engine they used for Morrowind in 2002. It's had a few face facelifts and things since then but it's ultimately extremely outdated now. I'm amazed they managed to do what they have with it. The thing is they wont change unless they design a new one themselves as being easily moddable is a key cornerstone other engines don't have.

Kinda like DICE did with the Frostbite 3 engine back in the days for Battlefield 3.
