Small talk & Chit chat

Sorry to hear that dude. I just got a PM on another forum from a chum, his bunny died today :(

So sorry dude it's horrid I know, I lost my fur baby last year after 16 years of loyal companionship still miss her everyday. :(

Aww sorry to hear this Ex, my condolences.

I'm sorry to hear that. It sucks when something happens to a pet. It was only a few years ago when my family dog died. Still miss her.

Thanks guys means a lot to me!

Mine has been delivered to my friend in Sweden. Shes opened it and set it up to test it working. All is good.

So on its way to me today.

Nice !

Only thing I need to do is to figure out where I'm going to put the base station, Only 1 works, The other has no power going to it for whatever reason so need to RMA it, Should be fine though only need 1 for basic HMD activity.

I believe your Base station 1.0 should work. You had the vive right?

And good luck with the RMA... even the base 2.0 are on such a back order with such a high volume, that its taking 8 weeks for some to get. Or rather 3months.

For a single station I would mount it above the monitor if you can. But you paid £50 more than what he paid, and with only 1 base statioon? not sure id be happy with that.

In Norway people are buying them and reselling them for double the price, not 50 more :S

I honestly had no problem paying 50 quid more to skip the 3+ months of waiting, I got a brand new, Sealed, Never opened Index that I'll use extensively for ED and various race games.

The OG base stations are from my old Vive, Which sadly passed away after I dropped it onto a concrete floor during moving...... XD

Luckily the base station that died I bought from the UK store called Scan, As a replacement for the original base station that came with the Vive that died but was out of warranty and they've already okayed the RMA, If I ship it today I'll get a brand new one around Monday or so, So not bad :)

On a side note, Got an email from my ISP, EE, Saying the price is going up on the 31st of this month from £20 a month to £40 a month, Bare in mind this is an 18Mbps line which drops out A LOT, There is zero fibre in the area as it's basically in the country side.

I lol'ed, Called them, Complained and then cancelled, No way I'm paying £40 a month for net this bad so I'm going to be internet free for a while.

So even though I technically bought the Index pre-owned, Even though it was still sealed from the factory, Never opened etc... Steam support told me the warranty follows the hardware, Not the original buyer AND "Rick" added Half Life Alyx to my library for me free of charge, All in all not a bad day, Now just to wait 8 weeks for my Index controllers to be delivered ^_^

oh so you didnt get the kit?

Controllers I believe are not backlogged like the base stations or head so you will get them sooner.

Came across this article from PCGamer
https://www.pcgamer.com/steam-has-become-exhausting/

Actually pretty interesting. Never realized it until now but Valve treats it's customers like a social experiment. Gamifying sales and getting people to spend real money just to use fake money.

And people think Epic Store is bad.

I figured this out as soon as Valve did that store and community upgrade back in 2010 and the option to sell, buy trading cards, emotes and all that became available.

I wasn't a PCGamer back then. Joined around 2014 maybe? Sometime around there. Was young and didn't pay attention.

But now I see it. It's just sad. People target microtransactions and whatnot for video games when they all don't even see the biggest game software in the world is doing the same thing but behind a "storefront" so it's less obvious.
