best performing i7 block.

Hi,

i am after a new block for my CPU and I am wondering what is concidered the best perfoming block for i7.

I currently am using an old swiftech storm with a self made mounting plate but i feel the block is too restrictive.

Most commonly used one that I know of is the EK Supreme i7 block.. comes in Acetal or Clear Top. Around £40 in most shops....

Also the koolance 350 is known to be pretty good but is double the price of ^

Supreme is quite restrictive, as is the swifty gtx. For performance and cost buy the XSPC V3 matey

do you mean this one

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-044-XS&tool=3

cost isnt an issue (within reason) £35 or £55 not really bothered I just want the best performance

oh and i already have a couple of good backing plates so I dont care about those either! I just want a good block

Just for info the rest of the loop is:-

laing d5 vario (set to max)

3x 120 thermochill HE rad with SilenX Fan Ixtrema Pro 14dBA 120x120x38 72CFM

4850 ek full block

a big res made by err..... forgotten

1/2" piping

Been playing with the XSPC V3. And its amazing such a small lump of copper can achieve such results. I still remember the DD's from a few years back were 2x the size used 2x the copper and were good but the XSPC V3 is 1/2 the size 1/4 of the copper and 2x better.

My vote would go toward the XSPC V3 deffo all though i haven't played with the others.

I got one of these:

not my pic btw.

Best waterblock bar none for performance with the added benefit of it's not very restrictive either!

where did you get it from

what temps are you getting and @ what clock??

does this outperform the xspc??

I agree with W3bbo, haven't used that block myself, but a lot of people like it I haven't heard a single bad thing about the HK V3 block yet and I don't expect to hear anything bad about it. I think it's the best waterblock out at the moment.

I've seen some reviews and the HK3.0 does come out as the best :D

this is a graph of one of the reviews

and here's a nickel plated version of it, a custom :yumyum:

Nice chart! I'm glad to see my block is only 2nd to it although I bought my block a while before the HK was out, but 1.1 degree is not bad imo.

so i take it copper is better than acetal. The heatkiller in acetal can bought for around £35 and the copper version for around £55, is it really worth the extra degree? i am really interested as i just moved to an i7 system (waiting for all the parts to come) and i defo want cool it using water.

Can anyone recommend a good 240 radiator for less £50?

cheers
