Custom acrylic gpu back plate

I came across a website a while ago that made custom back plates out of acrylic, for gpu's. Can any one point me in the right direction.

isn't the purpose of a backplate to lower the temps and give the card better looks i.e. block the ugly pcb? i don't see acrylic excel at any of that.

+1 regarding the heat issue, but aesthetics-wise you can get some very nice non-transparent colored acrylic. Not cheap though.

But yeah, I wouldn't necessarily recommend this unless you have few heat sources putting out little overall heat on the back of your PCB. If you have no memory chips and no voltage regulation circuitry on the PCB's back, it might be feasible.

@paulstung: Apologies for not answering your actual question, but I simply do not know in which direction to point you ;).

There not just for the looks though. They also help with stopping the card from sagging from the weight of the block, and water. If i remember, the ones I saw had spacers, between the pcb and plate, also they have designs machined out of them, to aid with cooling. Isn't there an orange switch 810 build on here somewhere with one being used?

This guy does custom backplates, you can even have your own logo and text on them -

Cheers mate, I've just checked that guy, although not the same person, very helpful. He does some great work, I have just placed an order for a pair of 7950 backplates ( jut in case ) and an XSPC dual bay res face plate.

Cheers T. I have seen / heard of this guy. His website seems to be taking an age. The only back plate to go with the Alphacool block isn't quite full size, I need to hide the ugly pcb on The HIS. It's more of a green than blue to me.Actually looking at it in proper daylight, it is green, and I think I quite like it. I've never seen a green one before.

Cheers Tom, I've just dropped him a message on Facebook.
