Getting around IP bans is trivial.

OK so we are now on a full manual user acceptance.

This may need to be disabled for competitions but it the spam house may stop bothering with us once they realise that they cant post here anymore. Either that or they will make it less obvious that its a spam account.

Anyways - just keeping you all in the loop with what we are trying this week

First night no spam.


We had 9 accounts waiting to be approved or deleted this morning.

The off few may slip through as they get smarter but its better and thats all we could hope for

Really appreciate it. I am mostly active in morning/early afternoon so seeing the spam reduces my enjoyment. Plus I don't get to see AlienALX moan at the world... or hmm maybe thats a good thing

Thanks for the update Tom

I really didnt enjoy seeing this place go down because of the spam and i'm glad this has been stopped now, it isnt the most ideal solution, but it is probably the best one without risk or costs with upgrading.

i know its a pain for the admins in the short term but its nice not to get greeted with spam first thing in the morning
