Just seen the picture where Nvidia claims it's faster than a Titan X well if that's case AMD has no chance of picking up any more market share.

I can't see these 1000 series cards being cheap like everyone is hoping.

Also now i can't see Polaris being faster than Pascal.

Obviously going to be faster than a TX... It was just marketing speaking there. A 980SLI is faster than a TX, obviously it's therefore faster than a single TX. That's what you would expect from such a large drop in Node sizes.

FYI Polaris isn't aimed at the super high end. It's a replacement to the aging 300 series.. aka Hawaii and below. Fiji will be replaced with Vega

Not gonna lie, watched the stream and was actually really annoyed the whole time. SO MUCH repeating themselves it was painful to watch, how many times must they repeat the same thing over and over? I started counting and when talking about the whole viewport tech, they said it's entire name 10 times in 90 seconds.

Don't get me wrong, the cards are cool and all, but that was one bad stream

Even still i can't even see it beating the GTX1070 or even the GTX1060 as i have said AMD need to come out with something that is going to beat the lower cards from Nvidia which i can't see happening IMO Nvidia is just too far out in front.

Can't see it happening because no one has seen AMD cards. The hype train is really rolling with Pascal.

I wonder when pre orders will start I wanna grab myself a founders edition to chuck in my new rig although a UK price would be hamdy

This is all the info right now. I'm off to bed.

Wake me when something interesting happens.

Can't see AMD coming out with a card that is going to compete with Nvidia on power usage, Also i'm not buying into the hype of Pascal cause most of the stuff with Pascal i'm not even interested in like VR and other stuff they talked about.

I think VR is completely over rated

Im not interested in VR at all either I am however interested in the claimed performance of pascal. I'm hoping the founders edition of the 1080 comes in under £500

Because we know both Pascal and Polaris power consumption details... right.
AMD have already said 2.5x the energy efficiency. That's an amazing achievement already, but again no point in speculating. We still know hardly anything

Display Port 1.3 is being used on the 1000 series apparently with 1.4 support, Nuts !

Oh and a little error -

The GPU will have 8GB of GDDR5X memory, 2560 CUDA cores based on the Maxwell Architecture, with Nvidia claiming that this GPU has twice the performance of the Titan X.

Not too keen on this founders edition 1080 which gives more headroom for overclocking and will cost $100 more for basically the same card but slightly modified.

That makes no sense...
And if you are implying it will use DP1.4, i highly doubt it. It was only standardized in March. Pascal was way beyond a point to change that.

Some nice figures! Explains why some 980Ti's dropped $150(AUD) overnight.

Still not any pressing need to upgrade straight away but means Big Pascal is going to have to be very impressive. I imagine with 8GB of RAM they're looking at VR and 4K performance.

I'm not implying anything dude, I'm repeating what is on Nvidia's page

They must have literally just updated there new Display Engine then which means it will hurt volume available at launch. Seeing as it only just came out 2 months ago.

I watched the stream live and the 1000 series will be equipped with dp 1.4 allowing 4k@120hz.

DP 1.3 supports 4K 120hz already
