Baby Blue Update 2015-2016

Kilbane has a point there, I kinda thought that card would give an epic score in Valley. My 2 950s score 2684.

From other benchmarks I've found it looks like this was only on one of the GPU's, its roughly the same as a single Nano card. I may have turned crossfire off when playing around with Fire Render.

Ooooh benchy benchy! Would love to see Crossfire scores.

Both Valley & Heaven won't recognise the second Core, no idea why and not massively bothered as they are both synthetics. I won't be gaming with crossfire on as I will have to constantly remember to disable it for rendering. A single Nano core is more than enough to game at 1440p with the mostly older titles I'm working my way through in my library.

The only game I have installed with a relevant benchmark is Tomb Raider 2013 (Everything maxed with x2 AA & Tress FX) - Single Core: Min 40, Max 86, Av 60. Crossfire: Min 80, Max 144, Av 113.8

I also have Arkham City installed which has a benchmark built in but crossfire doesn't work on that either and runs like garbage anyway, and to be fair it runs like garbage on my 780 as well.

AMD sent me over a STEP file for the card cover so I could use it to create a custom cover. Someone on the PCPer podcast mentioned that the internal pump/block setup from coolermaster is so good looking it should be on display and I agree, so thats what I'm going to do.

The cover will be routed on our Kongsberg XP in clear acrylic and I'm going to do some custom die cut vinyl decals too.

So my RM650x died. Turned my system on at the wall and all i got was "fizz......pop!"
So its being RMA'd. The lovely people at AMD have loaned me a PSU in the meantime so I can carry on working on Fire Render.

The flat cables are awsome, first time i havent had to sit on the side panel to get it back on again. Had to move the HD cage forward also.

I got a clear acrylic cover made at work. The finish on the counterbore of the holes isn't great as we didnt really have the right tool but I'm still pleased with the result.

Hello again. So, 2017 Upgrades..... I moved the system into a Fractal Design Define Mini C which is an utter joy to build in. The only downside I found was plugging in the front panel connectors after the GPU was in place as the full length PSU shroud meant my fingers of butter and fists of ham were fumbling around.

The cables are from Bitfenix. The blue matches nicely but I'n not sold on the cable combs, a bit bulky and dominating so I may switch them out for some E22 ones eventually.

I replaced the fans with some from Bitfenix, x2 140mm Spectre PWMs in the front and a 120mm Spectre Pro PWM on the CPU cooler, I had to get the dremmel out to get it to mount and I't not as clean as I'd like but I was limited by time and only had half a day to get the system swapped over

System is much quieter and only slightly larger height wise. The next addition will be something special, very special indeed.

So here is the latest addition, in a shade of blue that matches perfectly. 1Tb of VRAM and an extra GPU core when needed. I won't be able to post performance metrics as I have to sign an NDA but I have been allowed to post images. I also may not have the card for long, it will be used for external ProRender testing, a presentation between myself an AMD in a few months and then it may be reassigned internally by AMD.
