Now that sounds like something I'd like to see (the loop, not the plumbing expert )!

He sounded very excited since this is something he has never done before :)

Gurt11 29-03-13 01:24 PM

Nice :D a friend of mine was asking about building a black and yellow pc for him the other day. I'll be following this first ;)

UkGouki 29-03-13 01:53 PM

nice got to see this subbed :D

paulstung 29-03-13 03:10 PM

Nice idea. It seems there are more people doing black and yellow builds. Me included, it makes a nice change from the norm.

AciD_RaiN 29-03-13 03:23 PM

Thank you for your compliments guys. I just hope it will all turn out as I hope :)

Noz_God 29-03-13 04:07 PM

Cant wait to see this have a HAF X myself

AverageNinja 29-03-13 04:10 PM

Welcome back to OC3D mate!
I'm looking forward to seeing moar :D
Subbed!

AciD_RaiN 29-03-13 05:48 PM

Thanks guys. Will upload some more later this evening :)

Did a little work on the front of the case and as you can see I have already made some mistakes. The spinning thing on the dremel accidentally scrubbed against a little part where the front panel PCB with USBs and all that used to be. The plan is to get some fighter pilot switches from mnpctech to turn on and off the LEDs. Also I'm gonna get some Lamptron vandal switches for the power and reset :)

The front is still a little undecided but I plan on trying one thing first and if that looks awful I have a different plan.

Had some steel cut down for me and fitted it in the floor with some carbon vinyl from IceMods. Had to drill most of the rivets out...

And dremeled the side panel for a new window :)

Thanks mate :) Couldn't find any yellow 3M Di-Noc so this had to do.

I still need to file a little in that window to make it 100% I can see a little bump in the bottom of the window there :P

I totally agree

Cooler Master sent me an amazing power supply. I sleeved all the cables and made some of them a little shorter...

Thanks mate ;) Haf-X is a nice and roomy case but it's rather ugly on the outside... I hop I'll be able to change that :)

AciD_RaiN 09-04-13 02:52 PM

Finished sleeving the necessary cables :)

Thanks mate :) This build will take some time so I hope everyone is patient...

AverageNinja 09-04-13 07:01 PM

^^ I like slow builds, you can follow those longet :D

The Orange One 09-04-13 07:41 PM

Slow builds are the best to follow, like AverageNinja has said!

AciD_RaiN 09-04-13 11:30 PM

That's great to hear guys :) Hope you will enjoy the ride with me ;)

AciD_RaiN 27-05-13 03:05 PM

Sorry for the delay everyone but as you know, life is expensive and so is modding :) I ordered a 140mm Akasa Viper fan from highflow.nl for the back of the case and some crystal link fittings and tubes just to show to the plumber that's doing the loop with me what he's working with :)

I also ordered some case feet from mnpctech a few days ago and they should arrive very soon.

Here's the package from highflow
http://imageshack.us/a/img809/5064/14119956.jpg

Testing the crystal link. I thought I'd never trust them but damn they are strong...
http://imageshack.us/a/img59/5254/50984531.jpg

And finally the fan fitted in the back
http://imageshack.us/a/img22/4134/80707859.jpg

I have to say though I would not recommend these fans unless you have a fan controller. They are very silent at 600 rpm but very very loud at 1600 rpm BUT the airflow is just amazing... I can imagine if you have a thick rad and these fans in push/pull, your temps would be awesome. I am gonna use the 120mm ones on the rads in this build :)

I hope there will be an update soon...

NeverBackDown 27-05-13 03:26 PM

Why not just use a 7v cable instead of 12v to drop the noise?:p

Because I will be using a fan controller :) I want to be able to control the speed and when I go out I can start folding at full speed and speed up the fans for cooler temps ;)

paulstung 27-05-13 03:40 PM

looking good mate. I agree about the fans I've got 10 120mm on rads in push pull, and 1 140mm for a rear intake, They all run at 7v and I sit at around 25 idle and have never exceeded 54 under prime. When they were on 12v the noise was as if the rig was going to lift off, I just used a 7v molex dropper cable.

I did try a controller at first but they made an awful dull hum sound, at first it was only the one fan, and I swapped it out only for the rest to start making the same sound within about 20 mins.

SeekaX 27-05-13 05:33 PM

why did you paint a usb icon on your hand?

It's a tattoo. My neighbor is getting into tattooing and I let him do this as a practice but I need to have it fixed soon...

"thumb" drive lol

AciD_RaiN 15-07-13 06:37 PM

This is a long overdue update. The case feet got lost in the mail so I just re-used the ones from my Sk1ds since they are exactly the same... I had to get some new screws and bolts for them though but they only had those huge washers so I used some yellow di-noc from http://www.icemodz.com/

These are the case feet from my Sk1ds...

The di-noced washers

http://img189.imageshack.us/img189/2078/ppz4.jpg

And finally the feet are on. The left one in the front is a little off but that can be fixed :)

My guess is that you are referring to the sparkly nuts that hold the case feet? Do you really think I would just let them be in plain sight when I'm done?

You could say things more nicely and not with that arrogance all the time. Every time you comment on my posts it's like you have sand in your vagi*a
