I've had WD drives die on me more then I've had seagate drives die on me.

-edit-

Finally the sieges in France have ended.

Feronix 09-01-15 04:47 PM

Fair enough, I've just had a LOT of Seagate drives die on me and most people I know.

I've only had one WD Caviar Blue crap out in my sister's PC, but I suspect that was her own fault cause she said she moved the computer across the room and denied it when I asked if something went wrong, yet there was some paint missing from the side panel :p

Few toys for my birthday present from me, to me, this year. MSI GX70 Destroyer and a much needed upgrade for the 7950, an MSI R9 290X OC. Guess I've become a little closet MSI fan.

New additions to my Games Consoles :D :D

http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/xq90/540/ozv4Rt.jpg

The White, Black and Silver PS2's i already owned for quite some time.

The three new addition are the red, yellow and the blue one, not a mark on them at all.
They are known as the Automobile Editions and are painted in gloss. I also have the Vertical stand for each in their own colour

Playstation 2 Light Yellow Automobile Edition

Awesome additions to your collection man! The silver PS2 Slim actually was my first console ever, loved it to pieces. Really liking the red and the white ones. :)

Feronix 10-01-15 07:40 PM

Nice! I saw a PS1 for sale for like a tenner not too long ago. I almost bought it but I resisted the urge knowing I'd never use it anyway.

My Sensei has died :( Gave me a chance to upgrade to a mouse that better fits my grip and hand though. Much grippier than the Sensei too which was the only thing I disliked about it.

Wasn't it one of your new year's resolutions to buy less things impulsively this year? ;)

Shaun, you can post your nudes here for those interested:

I bought it last year. I've never used it, realised you have to use the old switch from aerial to console thing and thought sod that, not connecting that to my 1000 TV. It would look aweful anyway, but some guy is in the process of making a HDMI converter for N64.

Sharp, though it does have a lack of contrast at the long end at closer distances that gives it a glowy look. AF accuracy is super important as the depth of field is tiny.

Some quick samples. (they are full 36mpx shots off a D800)
105mm wide open
200mm wide open
200mm at f4.5

Looks very nice! Seems like a decent lense! Minimal distortion, im assuming these are uncropped?

Wraith 11-01-15 07:35 PM

Has anyone in the UK got one of the SpyderIII lasers? The last time I looked into getting one shipped I ran into all kinds of red tape, apparently we are limited here to 1mw pointers for general sale, unless you are using it for academic purposes and can prove it.

Yes they are un-cropped, straight conversions from raw. (You'd have to download them from flickr to see the full resolution) Distortion wouldn't be obvious, but the long end is supposed to have some pincushion IIRC. The raw conversion has a profile for the lens and auto corrects vignetting, distortion and chromatic aberrations. (CA seems almost a non issue anyway)

Got fedup with wearing two headsets just so I could talk.

This to stick it on:

And I suspect that GTA won't get a preorder on steam and I had some spare vouchers lying around so I preordered this off Amazon. Physical copy as well as downloading stuff is a pain:

I have two of those. They are quite nice. Only Problem I had was that one of them has a high pitched noise (not very loud) when the internal usb 3.0 hub is connected.
Picture is nice. Of course it's not a high refresh gaming monitor, but for IPS it's more than ok for gaming. I had no backlight bleeding and even colours on both displays. The stands are very sturdy.

Wow that's actually sexy looking for a HDD :D

Just got this -

SuperFlower Leadex GOLD 1300W Fully Modular "80 Plus Gold"

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/pimg/C..._80897_350.jpg

I did have the 1000w version but decided to get a refund and put the extra towards a higher wattage version just for a little bit more future proofing if I decide to go silly with GPU's and stuff.

*EDIT*

Changed my order over to the 1200w Platinum version instead of the 1300w Gold version, Extra efficiency can never hurt and 13 being an uneven number slightly irks me ^_^

JR23 16-01-15 12:11 AM

I'm under the impression i've just bought one of these. Better be there on Saturday otherwise! well i'll probably ask for a HyperX and get over it but still! I am excited.

Haha sorry I just had to mate, I'm from Europe so yeah. Honestly it probably just depends on what you're used to but I'd be scared less to drive around in the UK/Australia :p

moving to Norway and driving on the first day was tough. Sooo tempted to drive around roundabouts the wrong way!

And reaching down to change gear with the wrong hand was an annoyance for sure.

Changing gears is just about the only thing my left hand is good at. Don't take that away from it :(
