    parallel HEX

This will be a bit of an odd project log as the build was completed quite a while ago, say about nine years ago in 2007! I had a thread of the build on Hard Forums and it even made it to their front news page :). However due to a change in ISP in the past and a tragic data loss the images were...

    Parallel In The Black

Welcome to my project log for Parallel In The Black. Many elements of this project will be familiar to those who have read my previous project log for “Black In Control” but I thought there were enough changes to warrant a new project. Can’t have too many projects! The main changes to the...

A little teaser of my next water cooling project

Whatever could I be up to? :) Many thanks to Aqua Tuning as they were the only ones that had the Koolance cold plate in stock, otherwise I would have had to import them from the US. Also thanks for the free mug and sweets :).

    4K for £0.2K

Apologies for being purposefully cryptic in the thread title :). I got an email from ebuyer.com on this Sieko SE39UA01UK which is a 39" 4K TV for less than £200 which of course can be used as a monitor. I thought some of you guys might be interested. Although the spec says it's 120Hz refresh...

Best way to sell water cooled graphics cards?

I'll soon be selling my two EVGA 780ti SC's and wondered if it was better to sell them with the Aquacomputer waterblocks and active backplates fitted or remove them and sell the water cooling parts separately? It's a case of getting the most return as well as selling them promptly.

    Philips BDM4065UC 40" 4K 60Hz

Just to muddy the waters of selecting a new monitor, I noticed the Philips 40" monster on OCUK and Scan. At last, 4k on a proper screen size! The reviews on OCUK are positive, with good scaling to 1440p for when you run out of grunt to go 4k, amongst the comments. Anyone on here using one?

    GRID Autosport Cheap On Steam

It's only £6.24 for the next 21 hours (as I type this) so that 75% off. The DLC has 75% off too, just wondering which to get: Grid Autosport Season Pass GRID Autosport - Drag Pack GRID Autosport - Touring Legends Pack GRID Autosport - Road & Track Car Pack GRID Autosport - Sprint Pack GRID...

    Steering Wheels and Racing Games

My Logitech joypad is really holding me back in racing games, so I decided to get my old Logitech Gran Turismo Force steering wheel (from the days when the Sony PS2 was current!) out from the loft, but alas it's knackered. I get the feeling I'll be wanting something less toy-like any way, but...

Anyone have a retro Logitech Gran Turismo Force steering wheel?

Does anyone have an old Logitech Gran Turismo Force steering wheel, the black and blue one that came with a PS2 and Gran Turismo? I got mine out from the loft the other day and discovered the reason why it was up there - the RJ connector on the cable from the pedals has been ripped off and I...

Server & Media PC OS Suggestions?

I have some old computer bits that I'd like to put to some use and my first thought is to build a mixture of a server and media PC if that's at all possible. My existing QNAP NAS is long in the tooth, slow and limited in storage space. The parts are Gigabyte P67A-UD7-B3, Intel i7 2600K, 8GB...

Looking for a wifi broadband router, any recommendations?

Guys, I need a new wireless router for my Virgin Media cable broadband. My current router (Asus RT-N56U) just isn't cutting it for the wifi kit we have in the house. Any recommendations around the £200 mark? I've looked at models from the usual suspects Asus, Netgear, Linksys, D-Link, DrayTek...

Nvidia DSR on older GPUs with 344.24 Drivers

Haven't seen this posted anywhere here - On Guru3D (credit where credit is due) they have discovered a way to enable Dynamic Super Resolution (DSR) on older Nvidia GPUs, not just the 900 series. "Dynamic Super Resolution (DSR) produces smoother images by rendering a game at a higher resolution...

    Microsoft Surface Pro 3

Didn't see this posted anywhere on the forum and thought some may be interested. The new Microsoft Surface Pro 3 was released today, at least in the US and only in a few flavours though: - 64GB / i3 Processor / 4GB RAM - $1,149 - Released August 31st - 128GB / i5 Processor / 4GB RAM -...

    Wolfenstein : The New Order

I've been playing Wolfenstein The New Order for a while now and I'm pleasantly surprised, I'm enjoying it! Despite the fact that it has the IdTech5 engine under the hood which means no love for SLI and quite rough textures up close, the story line and cinematics of the game are very enjoyable...
