AlienALX I made the SLI cover myself. The brown was too ugly against the other colors.

I still need to replace the 240 mm fan in the front and the 120 in the back. I am also making a custom acrylic clear side panel with soft white lighting. May add so vinyl, but haven't decided yet.

I am toying around with some ideas to mod aesthetically the PSU. The Red is a bit jarring.

Appreciate it Mark3Max. This isn't my first build, just my first "themed" build. I built my first rig in 1999.

I would, if you all would be so kind, like some suggestions for dealing with a few problems with replacing them being the last option. First, my PSU is ugly! lol I really want to keep with the YETI color scheme ( White,Black, Lighter Blue ) the red just stands out too much. and Second, is it safe to paint the heatsinks on my motherboard? the green also throws things off. I know what you may be asking "why the heck didn't you think of these things before you bough the parts? " well, simple answer is... The PSU and Mobo were given to me. Free will always trump color selection! lol

I wouldn't paint anything that isn't already painted. Painting anything that is meant to dissipate heat means that you have added an extra layer of something for the heat to have to transfer to before it gets removed, meaning the process is slower. ANODIZING, on the other hand (for aluminum parts), is a good bet. There are guides on how to anodize things at home, I would experiment with that first and would definitely NOT paint any heatsinks. Fractal Design makes a really nice looking white PSU in 650W and 1000W flavors, or you could go with any other brand of power supply that ISN'T OCZ or Thermaltake and get something painted on it in white... like say... the name of the rig? Possibly with an accompanying simple silhouette of said creature? Just a random thought that occurred to me, could look nice with an all acrylic side panel if done right. If you are looking to replace the front fan (200mm), your options are kind of limited in terms of fans that will not only perform their intended function, but not make ALL of the noise in the process. I would say BitFenix or CoolerMaster for a replacement, but even then the CoolerMaster is kind of a crap shoot since quality control is better on the BitFenix fans. I have the gunmetal version of this case and I have to say... VERY "upset" that you beat me to posting a Sabertooth build out of this x-D. Looking good so far!

Thanks for the input Mgutierrez33! I really appreciate it. I have a small but cool update to the rig. I just got done cutting and installing my own Acrylic for the side panel! The lighting inside was just thrown in there for effect and doesn't represent the final look.

I also like your idea about a Yeti symbol. I am a graphic artist. I should have thought of that. lol

well Tom, I just watched your NZXT Hale90 V2 White PSU review! This might look sweet in the Yeti!

Lookin much better just with the acrylic in place! I just got my acrylic side panel in for mine today and it literally made all of the difference in the world with how the system came together.
