So thought I would post my rig, came here before building for some advice and guidance with choosing parts.

It's now almost complete, plan to possibly add a second GPU and double the memory. That wont be anytime soon though as I have no money :(

At the moment the 3GB GTX 780 has been taken out, to be sent back to EVGA through the Step Up program and I will be getting the same card back just with 6GB of memory all for £26, result :)

This does mean I'm having to use a Radeon HD 4350 1GB as it was the only thing I had spare :( , cant even play trials HD without turning the graphics down all the way.

The specs are:

  • CM Storm Trooper Windowed Case
  • Rampage IV Extreme Black Edition X79 Mobo
  • 4930K 3.40GHz @ 4.2GHz
  • EVGA GeForce GTX 780 3GB ACX Superclock
  • Vengeance Pro Silver 16GB (2x8G 1866MHz)
  • Samsung 120GB SSD 840 EVO
  • WD Caviar Black 2TB
  • Asus 24x DVD-RW
  • SuperFlower Leadex Platinum 1000W PSU
  • XSPC Raystorm 750 EX240 Kit
  • Windows 7 Pro 64-Bit
  • BitFenix Spectre PRO 120mm Fan Green LED
  • BitFenix Spectre PRO 140mm Fan Green LED

Let me know what you think, is their anything you would have done different or added extra.

Thanks, to Feronix for the advice pre-build.

Better off having those HDD fans blowing IN your case so they are actually doing something mate - the side fans are daft tbh ( I did say that in the review too ;) )

Would you suggest turning the drive cages so the fans are at the front and flipping the fans, so pulling air IN from the front then?

Looks quite nice, but that red from the mobo is really clashing with the green in my opinion.

Yea I was hoping I could turn the mobo LED's off as I wanted it to be just black and green.

Yup that is exactly what he means, this wil also improve your positive air pressure inside the case, which means less dust.

Apart from that, it is a nice looking rig.

Thanks. I have been having a problem with more dust than usual and didn't know why, gone through so much compressed air since it was built.

So the 6GB GTX 780 the other day, along with a EVGA back plate. Got it all fitted and flipped the drive cages around, seems a lot better for dust already. Not checked temps though, as I forgot to check before changing them round.

Card arrived just in time as two BenQ 24" monitors arrived today too :)
