X1900XT Cooler Options

As I'm stuck with the Sapphire X1900XT now for a while, I automatically assumed the Accelero X2 would be the perfect aftermarket cooling solution.

I have recently read that a lot of people are complaining about how the cooler doesn't vent and how the cooler and ramsinks are stuck on like superglue once installed.

Which cooler do you recommend? - I need it to be a relatively compact solution, so HR-03 is out of the question really, and I don't want to w/c

Zalman VF1000?

The Duorb, from what I've seen and read is total junk.

Accelero on the other hand, does a great job on my card (without the fans). Much better than the stock cooler and much much cooler

But accelero is UUUUGLY

Zalman looks a lot prettier and isn't that much worse than it. People may not agree with my opinion but that is it lol.

VF1000 for me. There is also a copper version of it I believe.

As I have one on my X1900XT - Arctic Cooling Accelero S1

Completely silent aswell as keeping the card extremely cool (providing you have good airflow)

Accellero is pants, I've used both the Zalman coolers. And i've not been dissapointed by either of them. If you're tight on funds, then go for the VF900, as it's not too far behind the VF1000. Both are stunning coolers.

Have you considered the Thermalright V2? Damn spanky piece of kit if you ask me.

It isn't, it's a good cooler. Not quite sure what you have to base that opinion on tbh

As kempez said, what do you base this on. Just saying it's pants as a generalisation isn't saying much.

I would go with Zalman VF1000, a personal prefences! I have used it once and i was actually very happy with the cooler!

Whats ur temps please? im also considering the S1 rev2 for my x1900xt in the HTPC, the oem heatsink is too loud...

Temperatures

Overall the temperatures seem to have improved. The GPU is idling at 39°C where before it was 45°C to 50°C. The load temperatures have also improved with the card only hitting 55°C (not bad for passive) where before it was hitting 70°C+.
