Would you miss OC3D news if we got rid of it?

I think it's valuable for latest hot news and the ability for members to comment on news is fine. However, I do feel the ability of members to create new topics should be removed. This because the forums get diluted. Take the gtx680 as an example. There are topics and threads on the cards in news, in graphics cards and now overclocking, etc. It causes dilution and inefficient forums.

Keep the news, as this is a hardware site, but keep it just for OC3D staff to post new interesting events.

A regular section for forum members to post news is great.

But an official news thread that goes on the front page, I don't really feel is necessary and I wouldn't miss it.

Anyways we have SieB who posts all the news for free

To be honest I barely even look at the front page. I even go through the the forums to get to the OC3D reviews. That is going to be largely the same for all the members of the site - but that's not really the point since we are already hooked.

Surely the front page needs to be the place where the site hooks new members? Personally I'd put the OC3d reviews on one side and the first page of the forum's 'view new content' on the other.

the news dosent have to take whole right colume though, and im sure manufacturers OC3D works with would love

the publicity , and the users linking to their site through OC3D's forums.

Binning the news is a Bad, but you do need to reconstruct their place on the main page and forums.

further more the site should be on the cutting edge of TECH and NEWS is exactly that.

maybe orientating the threads to OverClocking capability of new product.

Its good to have everything in one place but as posts do get repeated elsewhere then leave it up to people to google news and use it for what you suggest.
