Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus PC Performance Review

Finally downloaded this game. Gotta love cdkeys.com! List price of $79.99CDN, got mine for $45. 4K was a bit of a bitch to get working on this thing though, but it's running. What a dark start to a shooter, holy crap! They really went all in on filling in the back story.

In what way was it difficult to get running ? You've got quite a rig there.

4K was not working out of the box. Common problem according to Le Google. You only see one quarter of the screen. I had to do some peckering around with scaling in the Nvidia control panel, and use borderless window instead of full screen. Looks mint now, even though I'm kind of bored with it already. As pretty as it is, it's a typical "on rails" shooter. I get bored of those rather quickly. Especially since I bought all the Fallout New Vega DLC at the same time. Sticking with that at the moment.

I've got to say I am amazed that this game got the reviews it did. Maybe it's because people are so desperate for a decent single player FPS?

I'm in over four hours now and so far the cut scenes have been longer than the actual game play. The levels so far have been so short that it's nuts. Even the part I was most looking forward to (the parade part outside) was just a "Walk here and deliver something" and that was it.

I really hope this picks up and soon, or I am going back to Fallout 4. I could handle how linear it was if the action scenes went on for longer but there seems to be hardly any actual game in it at all.
