get a new aerial ... i have 2 20DB antennae one for each router the avg power is 3db and every 2-3 Db is a doubling in signal range

(my 20 DB antannae have been rated for 1000Meters outdoors .. and i can get my wifi @ my fave coffee shop ~ 100 m away)

So.. am I following u that u can take a regular WRT54G - effort - and just plug in the antennas ? or is there more to it ?

yeah you can, Each antenna has a db rating, the ones i have are 10db i think, i paid £22 for the pair. Boast my signal really well. I think most wireless kit comes with 2db atenna's.

yea and yea maplin sell them here.

There are also 2 types of connections. think SMA is one of them.

Im a bit rusty as i havent looked at anything like this for a couple of years.
