Seeing as Jim has got me completely obsessed with upgrading my home network I brought a Intel® Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN mini pcie card for my Compaq v6500 laptop.

Home network supports 300mb wireless now so seemed the right way to go.

When posting though the laptop syas the card is unsorported and to remove it. Ive had a hunt around online and cant find any lists of what wifi cards are supported.

Any one got any ideas?

Has to be internal Brooksie tbh.

Be nice to know broadcoms work as there are some on ebay. Why cant they just provide a compatability list :(

I just want quicker file transfers, my main 'my documents' is heading to the server so all the machines link to one central one. Im fed up of everything being different.

file transfer speeds on my laptop are a must now tbh.

make sure you turn offline files off. God that rubbish annoys me. (i know it has its purpose etc etc.)

Still had no luck tracking down a compatabilty list so I can start the hunt for a cheap card. Anyone got any ideas?

My laptop has cards locked out in bios, drivers are not the problem at all as Im on 7.

It wont even post with this intel card just get a 'not compatable' error

TBH, I don't know a great deal about laptop BIOS. Prob a noob question, but is this anything to do with 'jumpers' ?
