That's what we wanna hear....or is it?

Hmmm...wonder how much the next Windows will be next year? :p

Well I reckon I've gotta buy 64 bit at some point but not sure if I'll bother.. This wont change the OEM versions which I'd be after.

bah

still not worth it

its like them selling a car that doesnt work properly

and the difference between 20, and 15k for it

if it doesnt work properly, you dont want it

end of really..

Little bit harsh that.. It does work for the majority of people depending on what their needs are.

I've found it to be nothing but stable.

Not being biased here as I thought XP was great after a couple of service packs and I'm not looking for a mass debate as to whats better blah blah as we've got plenty of them elsewhere in the forum.

maybe the newer fixes for it are good

but when i ran it i had nothing, NOTHING but problems

i liked some of the nifty little features

but the problems just overshadowed them so much that they didnt matter

explorer.exe is the MOST unstable thing in vista

when i ran it on my older but 'good' hardware nothing but a headache.

however on my new 'uber' hardware.. i have to say its been about as close to flawless as i could wish for. and i absolutely love the fact i have a full, shiny readily available 4gb of ram. :) without all the crap that comes with 32 bit hating anything past 3.25gb

i have to admit, i've begun to love it :)

that aside i still love Leopard more(sorry i had to do it)

I say let it mature and it should be ok. I'm running 64bit ultimate and it does have some nifty features. Im keeping it over XP now as it is pretty slick to look at/use. Although at times I am banging my head as if im using an internet hosted java OS its that slow

Sometimes it loves me

Sometimes it hates me :)

Bring on new windowssssss

Meh even though I got 64bit vista I think im gonna stick with 2gb anyway. It works well enough.

I prefer vista by miles though. More stable and feels a lot more secure for w.e reason.

I have vista but I cant use it because I activated it too many times. I cant call M$ because I have a mobile phone and when I call M$ on my mobile I get a voice message saying that the service is not available in my area. Why did they do this with OEM versions of Vista?

Give the code to someone else to do it for you?

how would that work? dont I need to have my computer infront of me to do that?

Na ya need the long old code it gives you to call with and perhaps the serial number.. they ask you a couple of questions and then give you a code to put in the computer.

very harsh indeed. Mostly its the drivers that cuase problems. In your example it would be, you bought a petrol car, yet you put diesel in it. Now is that the car's fault or yours?

Thanks. But I decided to Give my windows Vista another try to install lastnight before I went to bed cause I havent had it on my computer since november. It installed perfectly and when I went to validate and it validated for me. It was weird because the last time I didnt try to validate windows but 3 days later Vista started accessing the HDD for a few minutes , then rebooted, after reboot it asked for the windows key so I entered it and it then told me the key was invalid.

Just one question though. I have an Acronis image of Vista backed up of Vista without any drivers installed. I have a new motherboard coming by the end of next week because the IP35 Pro broke on me so I rma'd it. I am getting an Abit IX38 Quad GT replacement instead of it. At the moment I am using an ASUS Crosshair with AMD X2 6000. When I get the new motherboard will I be able to use the Vista Image?

I dont want to go through installing Vista again in fear of it being invalid again.

I wouldn't know to be honest..

I'd think that if you use the image then your hdd will be exactly as it was when that image was taken.. I.e. if windows was validated at the time then it will be when you use the image.

Absolutely anything you've done since you saved the image though would be gone.
