Windows Vista Platform Update

Not really bothered as Vista for me is well, useless.

Will be looking forward to Windows 7 final release and 7lite. :)

Want to see some testing done gaming-wize.

To this point, although the OS is meant to be all that Vista wanted to be, the Vista gaming performance on the current platform has been champion.

With 11 on both, it would be nice to see the comparisons again.

No matter how good 7 may be, if u don't use it for everyday stuff and only launching games, if it still proceeds to lag behind Vista - Vista's stable enough for me and I won't be buying 7.

Other pcs that do everything everyday, that's another question, but people also dual boot "a" windows with ubuntu etc..

Stoba has spelling issues?

No, spell check doesn't work on titles / subtitles.

The issue the other day was down to Jim updating the spell checker and me not clearing my cache. Anyway back on topic.

You've raised an interesting point there rasta, It would be interesting to see the difference, if any.

I also decided not to move to Win7 as it is similar to Windows Vista.

Windows 7 doesn't really bring me anything new in terms of innovation and the increase in loading times and such aren't going to change my mind.

lol @ Tom

ok, i'll setup my spare sys. I have 2 identical hdds here (old 80gb hitachi deskstars) and will install win7 ult x64 and vista ult x64 sp2 + platform update on each and run some tests at stock speeds:

E6750

Asus P5K3 Deluxe

2x1Gb Crucial Ballistix

8800GTS 320mb

if anyone would like to see any particular benchmark or test, let me know and I'll do my best to run em :)

Was chatting with the Codemasters programmers/coders on Thursday and they were saying the DX11 stuff they have managed to achieve with Dirt2 will be astounding.

Just gotta wait now, thats why the games only launched on other formats due to getting DX11 on the PC version.
