Windows Vista OEM: Facts

Cool :)

Seems a pretty basic article with info about the difference between OEM and Full version.

I like this bit:

Of course, a real "manual" hasn't shipped with Windows for over a decade

A lot of the info is pretty much the same as XP, altho I did learn something in reading thru it:

while retail versions of Vista include both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows, OEM versions are specific

I thought both were 64bit or 32bit, so I guess you get something more for your money when you buy retail (in addition to the upgrade/activation thing) :) but then retail is 2x the price of OEM

Changed the pics to go along with OC3D background a bit more. Thanks for article feedback. Sorry haven't posted any news lately, finals were hectic.

Thanks!

The only thing bothering me is the 1 motherboard only..bet they'll be some kind of exploit (if there isnt already)

That's my only regret from getting the VIsta Ultimate retail from Dad's MSDN lol

we only got vista business through MSDN :( good enough for the works laptop i suppose.

Morning all

Lets start the day with a moan. So ive had windows vista home premium fora while now as part of the beta.

Got the finall installed on a test machine and thoght, bugger ok so I cant hook it up to a domain lets go an upgrade.

So click the windows anytime upgrade instructions to get vista ultimate. To UPGRADE its going to cost me 135 pounds. WTF I might as well just go and get another OEM of vista for that case and install taht.

Has anyone else tried the so called upgrade proces?

Dunno.

Do know however that QVC were selling Visa Home Retail last night for £219. And yes the guy sounded like a PCWorld ad when he was talking about it.

U can do 3 easy payment thingies, along with a number of options I think.

Looks pretty high, but any1 who`s really strapped for cash and has to do something like this, may aswell let QVC take u as well.
