Windows Live Messenger on 7

Its a bit annoying how it doesn't go in the taskbar and how it shows an extra window for thumbnail

But you can revert it to how it used to be (taskbar)

Just set live messenger to compatability mode to Windows vista

Vista mode also allows drag & drop to send images ect.

But you do have to exit in the pop up bit of the task bar near the clock to get rid of it....

Had this problem loads of times. Sorted it with the same fix.

Yeah, was the first problem I encountered on 7. Fixed using the same tweak. Mine's running in XP SP3 though.
