It's basically Vista without all the bloat (plus a few extra services).

I found it ran much better than Vista with no compatability problems (at least none that didn't happen in Vista)

It's actually the best for gaming, performance wise. You might run in to some games that don't like to run on 2k3, but 99% run fine on it. 2k3 is the ultimate gaming OS TBH.

It's actually basically XP without without all the bloat. No theme whatsoever, basic 2k style. Very very snappy OS. I love it. 2k8 is going to rock my world, I can feel it already.

No, It's Vista without all the bloat. Server 2008's kernel is based on Windows Vista's. Also, it does include Aero, Sidebar, Windows Movie Maker and all that other fluff, it's just disabled.

Oh, K. Thought we were talking about 2k8.

But yeah, 2k8 = Vista's Kernel and 2k3 = XP's Kernel.

yea i thout thats wat was happenin .. well if u have a convo about 2k3 in a 2k8 thread .... confusion ensues :S

Well, Now I am going out and buying myself a copy! :)

And now really looking forward to 2008!

Do you mean buy or "buy"? lol

Cause, Windows Server 2003 ain't cheap as they are only sold in multi-license packages. I think 5 Licenses is the smallest package available which is about $550 CAD.
