Windows automatically updating drivers!

Hey there!

Playing Elite Dangerous loads atm but I can only play using 15.5 AMD beta drivers as there is a issue in super-cruise which AMD still have not fixed!

However every time my pc restarts it changes my drivers to version 15.201.1151.1008

Basically every time I turn my pc on I have to wipe and reinstall my drivers!

Am I missing something here; making a mistake?. (Also tried changing windows automatically updating my drivers but did not work).

Looking for any other solutions?

Defer drivers or updates is a huge fail on microsofts part, you'll need to disable them on a registry level and even kill the policies processes too. You can still use regedit, services policies from the start menu, simply open the start menu and type them in and go from there.

Regedit you'll find driver and update settings in the software/windows/drivers (and services) menus. The same thing is services policies.

Reboot then ddu the drivers again reboot and install your own chosen drivers.

Easiest way to defer updates is to set your internet connection as metered.

A quick google search will tell you how to control auto updates, defer them, control which ones you install - it's win 10 pro that has the most options I think, but metered connection should stop auto updates

It only stops "optional" updates the cumulative updates are installed whether you want them or not, deferring inherently just postpones until the next shut down  it's something that Micro$oft are really going to have reconsider if they want everyone to make the switch to 10, as you say Win 10 Pro has the most options but even the "stock" options are simply garbage, I recommend killing the processes at source. Defender for example is one of those joke options in Control Panel, you turn it off and after reboot it turns it back on, WHY!!. Nearly all my friends have gone back to either 7 or 8 due to the "Nanny OS" it's either the lack of control or it's the obsessive sharing features that they don't trust.
