Windows 8 To Be Released In October 2012

A slip up from Microsoft Netherlands have put the release date in October 2010. Microsoft Netherlands published an article to mark the one year anniversary of the Windows 7 launch. The article deals with, well, Windows 7. However, in the last paragraph, this was mentioned:

"Verder werkt Microsoft uiteraard aan de volgende versie van Windows. Maar het zal nog zo’n twee jaar duren voordat ‘Windows 8’ op de markt komt."

Translated into English this means

"Furthermore, Microsoft is of course the next version of Windows. But it will take about two years before “Windows 8 ‘on the market."

That would make it 3 years between 7 and 8 which would be back on to the schedule MS is used to. XP lasted waaaay too long on the market with Vista only furthering that lifetime.

Let's hope 8 is another success like 7 and not the crap that is Vista.

My guess for how Windows 8 will be is how the new Windows Live Messenger and the new Windows Phone 7 interface will be. All animated with a more simplistic interface with panels representing everything.

it better not be i get so confused with the new msn and then frustrated because i can't work out how to change simple things like my name lol

I'm running a beta version of it on my machine and I can't for the sake of it figure out how to change my name except for changing your first and last name in your hotmail account's settings xd

yeah thats all i can work out too, i don't use it often anyways so im not bothered was just annoying trying to work it out
