Windows 7 will lose extended support in less than a year

Those who want a more "W7 like" W10 should look into Windows 10 LTSC. Though obtaining the license is tricky for a consumer.

LTSC is a modified version of WinIoT(Formerly EmbeddedOS), hardware support is limited, it rarely supports modern hardware and does not get updates for modern hardware backported to each release(And is not meant to be updated), it does not have or get up to date security features, it has no support for Windows Store, which means some modern applications & games can't be installed at all, soon it loses support for MS Office. No one should be using LTSC on something loosely resembling a desktop, basically, and certainly not one you ever plan to modify the hardware of.

But with some free remastering tools you can easily & legally remove all of Win10's bloat prior to installation, and with third party software get any other bits of Win7 you miss brought back for you.
