Posting it twice cause i posted on the wrong section :(

Hey, guys. I am new to the forums but anyway I was trying to overclock my mouse rate from 125 to 500, I have done it before in vista following this forum.overclock3d.net/showthread.php?t=8561&highlight=windows[/url], i heard everything that works on vista works same on windows but i guess not, i have tried that method on windows7 but all my usp ports stopped working so i had to use a ps2 keyboard it fix it

long story short, is there anyway i can overclock my mouse on windows 7?

~thx for any help in advance

overclocking a mouse, i have never heard of that in my life. Whats there to overclock????

Do you mean increase your mouse speed on the screen.

What's the benefit of the higher rate?

EDIT: Or rather: What's to be had from a quicker response time?

Smoother mouse, makes gaming much better. I can't aim on anything lower than 500hz. I was wondering why my aiming had got terrible. I installed some new drivers for my MX518 and it changed the rate back to 125. I then seen that my rate was 125, changed to 500hz and now ready for cup and LAN :).

Responds better

better tracking

precise aiming

turn off acceleration as well

I like it. I am *so* not deathmatching against you. lol.

I take it you do the same with dpi as well?

How does that get on with refresh rate constraints?
