The statement they sent to Blur Busters makes it sound as if it only took a single data change to raise the limit(ie delete 1000 and then enter 5000).

My question is why stop at 5k mine as well stop at 10k lol

That's a fair point. But I'd guess that 5K will see them through most of the next decade.
