Banging me head against the wall for long enough searching the tinterweb of things gives me either info that does not work or requires yet more software.
My sis has an iphone (I did tell her not to do it but hey ho) its now full and whilst I have managed to get all the data onto an external drive I was not able to move, only copy data.
There is no option to delete the albums or individual photos not matter what I try.

Result, I have given up in angry frustration and totally removed anything apple related and frankly it aint ever being installed again.

Why the fk does every device I can think play nice with windows PC accept freakin apple.

So anyone any constructive ideas that actually work?

As it stand, I am just gonna do a factory reset of the damn thing when I eventually calm down.

Far as I know, you cannot move stuff off an iphone, only copy. Once copied, you can delete photos on the phone. To select large quantities at once, go to albums>all photos then tap select in the top right, then you can swipe your finger from horizontally (left to right or visa versa) selecting all photos in rows.

To get rid of app "Documents and data", you just delete the whole app. Whether you do this via Settings>General>iPhone Storage or pressing and holding the app icon and tapping the x doesn't matter.

To pull off data from apps like a 3rd party photo app, VSCO/photoshop for example, you use itunes. Next to the Music drop down menu beneath the main menu bar, there should be a button with a phone icon. Selecting this, there should be an option called "file sharing" which will allow you to save data from specific apps.

I won't deny that apple have made it a well convoluted process.

sadly the trash can is not available

I havent used apple since the iPhone4 was out. However even back then it was an issue like you have.

Fortunately, back then, you could actually download software on your pc allowing you to transfer music and files to and from the phone, something that was always blocked. You could also delete the same data from your phone via the PC.

Couldn't tell you what it was called as it was years ago, but perhaps such software still exists. Bear in mind, it was 3rd party software so use at your own risk if you find it.
