I need a laptop for university too, I am rolling the dice here hoping for the big win! I bought a laptop on '08 that I have had to repeatedly RMA because of faulty Nvidia chips.

I am currently using it to tell you this, but the DVD drive is broken and I can't figure out how to replace it (opened 3+ times).

I would be satisfied even with a base model, anything to replace the current laptop that I am using. This would save me money that I could spend on car expenses, because I wouldn't have to buy a new laptop in the winter.

It probably wont be vista, the one i won came with win 7 and looking on the dell outlet site theres very few on vista, mabey 1 in 5-6 of them
