I have never seen a game that a flying bird look even half decent

that's because of polygon limits, also realistic feathers are very heavy on the resources.
nobody takes a close look at the birds, so why waste resources on them.

I wasn't talking about graphicly, but the physics on the flight looks.. horrible

is the game about birds?? Can ya shoot them??? if no then why bother its just eye candy for the most part. Be grateful the put them in at all.

sry after reading that it came off as rude I just meant for a funny lol no insult intended

S.T.A.L.K.E.R, Assassins Creed, Tomb Raider... all seem pretty decent to me. Especially in stalker they make great target practice.

Non taken, I still think that they shouldn't put a bird in the game if they are not planning to make it right..

mate processing power doesn't grow on trees.

If every game developer would stop improve because it needs more power, we wouldn't see much development. People would stop buying new graphics cards..

Think about it like that, if all the games can run on max on a graphics card.. would companies like AMD and Nvidia would have the same incentive to make faster cards as they had when the original crysis came out? More demanding games are a key to better hardware, not the opposite..

Make that an option in the settings, like physx on/off or thressFX (on tombraider).

what has that got to do with anything. instead of improving the stupid physics of a bird they raise the polygon count on things you actually look at.

-sigh-
BirdFx. Only slightly more pointless than TressFx.

On the scale of stuff needed in making a game, birds that don't play any key bit so why should they focus resources on birds and other animals that you don't/aren't supposed to pay much attention to compared to oooh, I dunno, bug testing or character models?

Birds look fine in games that have birds as an actual game component. Like the enemy birdlike things in Borderlands, or the birds you can hunt in Far Cry 3.

I think Rovio studios put a tiny bit of effort into their development.

I thought this thread was going to be about female characters looking so unrealistic in most games, which would also have been a valid point lol.
