Who has been to a Lan?

Looks like Il be going to PDXLan in Feb. I have never been to a lan but really want to go because the guys that won the Coolermaster mod contest will be there. It will give me a chance to enter my next comp and have Real Judges Score it (the winner gets $1500 and a Cover Shot and a 2 page article in CPU mag.)

I was wondering who has been to one and what it was like...

i have been to many lans, but it's only been at my friends house with like 8 of us there. just friends. its really fun, and pretty exciting.

im sure ur gonna have a great time there!!

I've never been to a LAN . How sad am I (or not depending on how you look at it!).

Have been to a few mates houses with my kit tho, no more than 5 of us tho.

It is sad if all you do is play games competitively - This is gonna be my first non-pisch around lan. We still will though Great fun throwing stuff at eachother while playing and shouting abuse across the other side of the room. Also playing music loud with pizza helps too

I have been to 24 player public LAN it was very good much better than playing ppl over the internet imo

lan > internet - less lag and bickering about hacking. Nothing beats pwning friends and seeing the look on their faces muahahah

iv only been to lan's at friends houses/or mine. the thing is, funny or not, whenver we lan, 1 of our computers allways messes up. at my house, everything was fine, but my computer somehow couldnt boot, so i had to reformat. at other friends house, a guys hard drive wasnt being detected for like half the lan, and then at anothers, 2 guys blew their psu's. so ya

markkleb, i have been to many forums. started at aphnetworks.com, started ok but got REALLY childish, every1 there is around 16-17, cept for 1 10 year old.. also it was very small, 5 active forum members, i still go to bjorn3d, i find that it is a pretty good site. nothing "rong" has happened to me yet. xyzcomputers was a forum that was also really small, like 2 active members. i then went to dfi street, where their obsessed with dfi lanparty (not that its a bad mobo), and whatever problem they have, OS not booting, their always like GET A NEW PSU, i find it pretty funny, but sux cuz ppl wasted so much money. now here, havin a great time so far!!!

lans are fun, u just gotta be careful so no1 goes on ur comp and does something stupid, and if u have liquid coolding, i dont no if i would wana move my comp
