white paracord?

hi guys i really want to braid my psu cables with white paracord. but i dont know what kind of cord i need and where to buy it from...

can anyone help?

you are looking for 550 paracord.

this will do all of your PSU 18ga wires.
with some pateince can do a 4-wire PWM fan, 3-wire easy.
i get mine from a couple of sources here in the states. even our local hardware
stores carry paracord.
once you find it, make sure you buy enough and then some. sometimes the dye
lot can be different and the "color" maybe brighter or duller on the next purchase.
generally, a single color on just a 24-pin @ 550mm long is 44feet.
550mm times 24 equals 13200mm.
13200 divided by 24.5 equals 520inches
520 divided by 12 equals 44feet

then you still have your molex, PCIe and what not.. i usually buy a 100feet for $10USD

cheers for that mate. ive done a quick search on amazon and i can get 100ft of 550 in white for £6 which is very cheap do i need heatshrink with this?

heat shrink is ok but shrinkless is da bomb. But takes time and practice. Google cable sleeving and you'll see a ton of vids on it.

S_I_N hit it on the head, there are alot of vid tuts on shrinkless paracord sleeving.
involves burnishing the ends to shrink on the pin and anchor the sleeve. small heat
source and some tough finger tips..

it is easy, just remember that paracord snags really easy so be gentle dragging
them across edges.

I am glad you like the video, paracord sleeving is really easy to do and it will not take long to master. The hardest part for me was getting the pins out easily without damaging anything. I did not buy any of the actual tools to remove the pins but if you have the money that will be a great investment especially if you plan on doing a bunch. I actually made my own tools and they work great.

nice vids Sebar. i'm thinking I may get off my ass this weekend and get my cables sleeved finally. I have sleeved extensions already but seem to of misplaced my 2 6pin pci-e cables so i cant use my 2 8 pin pci-e lol and the corsair stock looking cables have me shuddering lol.

no doubt at all mate. Just the lazy mans way out lol. I have 100ft of white and black just haven't had the time to get to it. Back when I was doing alot of those other projects I lived alone and got my girls on thur fri and sat. Now they live with me so time isnt always on my side. But it will get done. I even procured a second set of cables so I can sleeve while keeping my rig running.

if only I could lol I dont have the space to leave something out for over night curing drying or whatever. My 4y.o. is autistic and possibly something worse (Rhetts Syndrom) still waiting on tests. And is basically @18mo in development so everything goes in the mouth first. 1st not going to risk her life for my modding 2nd not going to risk my parts to her mouth lol. So any changes or mods I do have to be done before I go to bed and everything put away. I'm looking at getting a 650D for cheap that is scratched up and modding the fark out of it. just gotta figure out the logistics lol.

I cannot imagine the amount of patience you must need raising a special needs child. I hope the test results return negative for Rhetts. I am fortunate to have a garage to work in that I can lock up to keep the children out.
