which would you use vapo or prommie

Ok I'm in the fortunate position of having both prommie r507 and vapo ls .Got my new toy (fx57 week 0516 before you ask

) today and I've installed on vapo for two reasons a: was already set up and b :supposed to have better load ability. This would give me direct comparison to fx55.I use speedfan as my meter and find at overclock ie 3450mhz she is at -12 in speedfan and under load can hit +8 this at 1.6v ,are these not supposed to run cooler my 55 (0.13 older fx55) was less forgiving.

prommie goes to -58/60c idle (but compressor bloody hot to touch, thats why I stopped using)

vapo hits -48/50 idle now -46??(reseated twice)

what suggestions (best suicide 3666.92 cpuverified at 1.65v i think)

Well my r507 prommie does better than that so I'd recommend you swapped over. I can suicide shot nearly 3.8Ghz. Forgot about verification though.

Try both and see which gives you the best results.

I would prefer the Vapo for 24/7 usage for the cooler compressor and easier mounting kit, bit if you can get siginifcantly higher with the r507 prommie then use that.

Dont bother comparing the temps on the LCDs, the Vapochills are pretty good but not brilliant, and the Prommy's are just a joke, just compare overclocks.

Thanks for quick replies will swop over in a day or two just scrambled my raid set up anyhow so will reinstall all clean and fresh etc then do a decent compare, in fact Ive ordered chilly1 head so will wait until fitted then try, little lazy now

LS is noisier - tuned to 240w

If the regas on the mach has been done properly then u should be tuned to 210w which is better suited to all but the hottest Intel dual cores and it is less noisey (even on turbo).

As Mav said the LS is nosier so perhaps worse for 24/7 use? I'd also think the R507 mach would run cooler.

Also didn't they retune the LS from 240W to 200W to reach better temps or do you have a first revision LS?

Depends on what your noise tolerance is. I dont find my LS noisy at all, the compressor is the loudest thing if you turn the fans down (which you shouldnt do on a r507 Mach).

When you say run cooler, do you mean evap temps or compressor wise? The compressor will be hotter in the Mach, and it will probably have the shorter lifetime because it isnt meant to be used with r507. But we all know that lifetime is a difficult thing to predict and it depends on how long you want to use the unit for.

I dont know what the difference between the startup times would be, which would be something i would consider when choosing between them.

They did retune the LS for 200W.

A stock ls and stock gt both will not sustain 210W or real heat yes the compressor gets hot in a regassed mach the oil will not disintergrate till it hits like 90 degrees C your comp may run at 70 degrees C which is optimal for the oil :)

Thanks again guys heck 70c is hot fatty so I think I'm ok. will wait til chilly heads arrive and fitted then I will do full compare of each,I dont know why but nowhere near my fx55 temps reseated twice and find Im around 8c higher???

@ nick25 Ive got newer revision

One more question when i have her regased again (to fit head) how do you tune to 210 or 240 the guys down here have never heard of this stuff and usually get blanc stares when trying to explain what you want.last time I regassed to r507 we did it while running something like superpi and added and released gas until she hit lowest temp showing onlcd while watching in windows with smart and speedfan,is there a better way??.
