Hello folks. I am looking to upgrade something in my rig but not sure what. I mainly just game on my pc along with using photo shop, Sony Vegas and Cinema 4D. Wouldn't be buying till the new year anyway so got time to think lol what would you guys change ?

My specs are...

Intel i5-3570k @ 4GHz
XSPC D5 AX360
Gigabyte 7ZZx-UD3H-WB
16GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1866MHz
Nvidia GTX780 Windforce
Corsair RM 750W
2xSeagate Barracuda 2TB
Samsung 840 EVO 250gb
Corsair Force GT 120gb
Windows 10 64 Bit
NZXT H440 Razer Edition
BenQ XL2420TX 24" 1920x1080

Thanks, Dario.

Yeah I was thinking about of getting a new GPU, not sure whether to get a normal 980 or a 980ti.

If your looking at upgrading in the new year I personally wouldn't get either. With Pascal around the corner you will be kicking yourself if you purchased a 980 or Ti and within a couple of months a new top end is released. You will either have blown extra beer tokens on something that will be discounted soon after or regret spending top money on a card that doesn't perform in comparison.

Another point to consider is that if you are looking at a new GPU I would highly recommend taking that step up to 1440 with a good quality monitor. The fact that the 970 will play almost everything at max in 1080 nullifies the point in an upgrade for 1080.

Yeah I have been looking at getting a new monitor was either gonna be Ultra Widescreen or 4K monitor but I haven't decided yet lol

If you want to game at 4K, you will need a pair of 980Tis or a pair of Fury Xs. There are currently no single card solutions that give acceptable framerates at 4k with all the eye candy turned up.

Damn, 2 980ti's ? Ultra Wide it is then lol

If you are already waiting before you buy then just wait a little bit longer for Nvidia and AMD's line up next year as they will probably be able to drive 4K and maybe in a single card solution, just be patient as they aren't that far off and that way too if you don't want what they are offering you might pick up the Ti or Fury cheaper

Yeah you do have a point. I don't mind waiting a bit longer as my card can handle anything I throw at it just now so not in any rush :D
