Well due to a very fortunate turn of events im going to be getting a new monitor with in the next week or two.

Problem is, i can't decide which!

Ive got a budget of between 100 and 200. Obviously cheaper is better, but im looking for value for money really. Don't want a 24" one thats cr@p and dont want a 15" one that can shower me at will.

Start you suggestions!

(and tyia:wavey: )

Here's a few that seem ok for gaming. I'm pretty sure they are all TN Panels so have a fast response time, but the colours aren't as good as S-IPS/P-MVA etc and the viewing angle isn't as good.

Not that it matters if you only sit in front of it and play games etc :)

I'm pretty sure all of the 22" screens are TN Panels and they all seem to be a similar price (£200-£250)

edit: The xerox one looks good for the price, but strangely it seems to have dual VGA rather than DVI/VGA

Cheers for the suggestions.

I really like the look of the price of that Xerox on aria just a bit priceyer than i hoped:(. I think the 20" widescreen is bearly bigger than a 19"ws and theres a fair few very well priced 19s.

Im liking the looks of this one:

its a decent price too.

Any thoughts?

The 19" panels are amazingly cheap now :) I was put off by the resolution tho. Altho for half the price of a cheap 20"or22" it's very good.

Also a 19" WS is about the same height as a 17" 4:3 screen. I think I have a image somewhere which compares the sizes.

I have a 19" non WS atm and was thinking of getting a 20" or a 22", but like you I don't want to spend stupid amounts of money on it.

I was looking at getting a old Dell 2005WFP as it has all the connections, is P-MVA/S-IPS and only costs about £180-£200, but then I thought about warrenty.

So atm I am just waiting to see what comes out next and also whether the pricing changes as I'm quite happy on 19" @ 1280x1024 for now.

LG are quite good tho. 3 of the TFT's at my office are LG 19"

Woah, nice find kemp. Any idea if that place is reputable?

Also a certain big, muscley, tattoed, skin-headed bird has informed me that ST will be getting LGs in soonish. I think ill wait too see the pricing for them, if theres no types i fancy i think i may pick up that dell...

I think it is all to do with market penetration, the offer closes on 30th april 2007. My screen is fine, 5ms response, no dead pixels, 3 year onsite warranty I would take a picture, but I lent a mate my camera today

What's the backlight bleed like on that panel outrunner? If it's a TN I've had horrible problems with em

And yes ham that site are decent

Hehe, ive just been experimenting with my old monitor a bit. I think ive got ghosting and the worse blacklight bleed you could possibly imagin, so anything will probably be a step up:P.

Quick question: What difference does DVI make?

Rgr that mr kemp.

Im liking the look of this actualy. Fingers crossed ST will get in somthing similar for a similar price...

That screen looks excellent for the price :)

I found a image of one

not sure if that Fraps FPS counter is ghosting

The screen looks quite nice :) altho in black would look better (the one on more computers says black).

edit:

The viewing angle doesn't look brilliant (altho it is a TN panel)
