hi i have nearly finished my gaming pc and was wondering what would be the best Cpu cooler to get if i was to overclock my AMD FX 6200 and i was wondering about using the NH D14 but i have heard it has some issues with the memory any advice?

My Specs:
Mobo: sabertooth 990fx
Cpu: Amd FX-6200
Case: Power cool Terminator
Ram: Corsair Vengance 8GB
Gpu: Asus GT440

and i would prefer if it was under £60

Thanks:)

depending on case, the vengence normally will not fit. but in this case, not going
to happen as the 120 fan will have to be jacked up to clear the heatsink. needs
the low-profile vengence.
and this is pretty much all high-end coolers. not much else to suggest other than
the coolermaster 212 and better fans. too bad the RAM dictates what cooler you
can run.. sell the vengence and buy the low-profile and live better.

the inner spacing of the 1st bank is right under the fan rim.. so yeah it wont make a difference.

heck, snap/cut the fins off and now you dont have a problem... there really arent doing
you a favor being there.. its not like your OC the RAM 2400MHz..make you own low-profiles..

i have been wondering about this for myself as i got the high profile veng's, but really want the DH-14

Is it posible just to get the heatsink off? and leave it bareback with no heatsink on at all??

What i know the hyper 212 evo should not interfere with the ram att all especially when you only got two of them.
But if you really would like to have the NH-D14 should i recommend just to cut of the fins (i did it) or just remove the hole heatsink on the rams. (you wont see the ram anyway if you got the NH-D14 because the fan will be on top of the ram and blocking the view)

gotta take extra care on those RAM 'sinks. sometime the memory chips will come off with the
'sinks.. saw a forum post of two or three just ripped off the PCB...
